VSSE Trial Exam

Victoria Selective School Exam (VSSE) Trial Exam:

James An College Victoria is proudly introducing our Victoria Selective Schools Exam (VSSE) trial exam. VSSE familiarises students with the test format and gives an indication of how students will perform on the actual test. VSSE will improve their time management skills and set realistic expectations of their potential performance.

This year VSSE will be held on Sunday 19th of June 2022 at the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre, Entrance Door 1.

The test is a simulation of the actual Selective High School Placement test for Year 8 students in 2022, thus the format for the trial test will be similar with the following areas assessed:

  • Mathematics (60 multiple choice questions in 30 minutes)
  • Reading Comprehension (50 multiple choice questions in 30 minutes)
  • Numerical Reasoning (50 multiple choice questions in 30 minutes)
  • Verbal Reasoning (60 multiple choice questions in 30 minutes)
